The accommodation that we manage is chiefly made up of shared student houses in popular student areas of Lancaster, although we have increased our range to include purpose-built accommodation and flats. As tenant numbers have increased so has the demand for more variety of accommodation, with many postgraduates and lecturers requesting more self-contained properties.
We have found there to be a consistently high demand for quality student properties in Lancaster and we generally let the properties we manage at least six months before the following academic year which helps eliminate any void periods.
We have been marketing student houses in Lancaster since 1994 and over this time we have continually developed our properties to suit the changing needs of tenants. By 2001 we were managing properties in Lancaster for several landlords and had developed relationships with a network of suppliers and trades people to help us deal quickly and efficiently with virtually any situation.
With the internet increasing the pace of the market we had found that by 2006 the more traditional forms of advertising were not able to keep up. Around this time, we ended the use of paper adverts and ‘to-let’ boards outside houses. Additionally, we do not pay staff commission or maintain large city centre offices. Instead, we organise a network of companies and contractors with the shared goal being the upkeep and smooth running of the properties we manage.
The range of accommodation that we offer is tailored for students both in its location and in the provision of inclusive utilities, services, furniture and appliances. There is usually no deposit to pay, the rent is competitive and we maintain a high standard of accommodation with our own maintenance team together with regular property checks. Additional cleaning services are available and we are contactable 24 hours of the day should a problem arise.
Accommodation is available throughout popular student areas of Lancaster including Primrose, Moorlands, Bowerham, Greaves and the city centre. All properties are checked for safety and are licensed and accredited by Lancaster City Council where appropriate.

Our reputation has been built on providing a superior standard of student home and we have implemented a programme of continuous improvement in the quality of our student accommodation. To aid us in this we regularly seek the views of our current student tenants for ways in which we can improve the houses they live in, while we perform regular checks to ensure a high standard is maintained. More recently we have reviewed the energy efficiency of all our properties and started to implement some of the improvements recommended from the EPCs in addition to the phasing in of more efficient appliances such as heat pump dryers.
